Religion was the first operating system for humanity. Back when we were hunter-gatherers, we needed a strategy to take down big animals. It wasn't a one-person job; it required coordination among the entire community. Religion provided that coordination. But today, religion has become so supreme that it pretends to have all the answers you could ever need or want. If you think logically, religion has nothing to do with modern life. Its original purpose—organizing a community to kill an animal—has been completely twisted into forming a god, worshiping it, and wishing for your luck to change. In reality, you are just killing your curiosity.
When was the last time you sat down with a problem and went deep to find its root cause? You probably had a loss in your business or failed an exam, and your answer was, "Maybe it is what God wished." No. That's a stupid answer. There is no God. There is no religion. You had a loss in your business because of your own decisions. You failed your exam because you were responsible for not studying well enough. There is no one in the sky noting down, "Alright, I want to make his life miserable." That's not how it works. It is just a way for people who benefit from you to demobilize you, take your authority, and strip you of your ability to be accountable for yourself. That's what religion has become.
It’s an addiction. Religion has already fed you all the answers, even the ones that aren't required. You failed? It's God's wish. Fired from your job? God's wish. Lost someone close to you? God's wish. Who the hell is this God, and why is his wish dictating my life? You never think like that because you've been taught that questioning is bad. You're born into a religion you didn't choose, and it comes with all the answers pre-installed. It makes you dependent. A person who has wasted his entire life saying "whatever bad is happening to me is God's wish" has become completely dependent. If you tell him the real reason he's suffering, he'll call you anti-religion. See how illogical that sounds?
Religion doesn’t just make you dependent; it makes you less accountable. Now, whatever bad happens isn't your fault—it's God's plan. And see the stupidity of it all: you spend your entire life fighting over religion. You belong to religion X, your opponent belongs to religion Y, and you are literally punching each other over it. But did either of you choose your religion? No. It’s an inherited property you're fighting for as if your life depends on it. And your life does become dependent on it because it shields you from accountability. It has become a Netflix subscription you pay for in auto-renewal mode without ever asking: Is this worth it? Is it solving any of my problems? The worst part is that if you try to cancel this subscription, you will suffer. Society will make sure of it. But the good part? You may lose everything, but you will get one thing back: yourself. The original, true self.
But now there's a new disease: spirituality. It’s just an upgraded version of religion, spreading at its maximum potential because it’s a blue-ocean business. The customers for this business are the untapped customers of religion—the ones with a little bit of curiosity, who ask questions that religion can't answer because it's based on illogical stances. Spirituality comes in to fulfill that surface-level curiosity. The old gurus and babas have no space to get famous in the saturated market of religion, so they’ve reshaped the business model. Spirituality is that new model.
Spirituality sells you thing's like "peace" and helps you "find your life purpose" without even knowing you fully. It's a massive contradiction. They sell you their books as the ultimate truth, their courses as the ultimate framework, and you invest your money in their live sessions. You have glorified them in your mind to the point that you do everything they tell you to do. It’s exactly like the old religious authorities, but now it’s spiritual teachers who hold the power because you have given it to them. They will preach to you that money is the cause of all problems, that capitalism is the problem, that holding power is the problem. But logically, bad capitalism is the problem, not capitalism itself. Everything has an upside and a downside. Water is necessary, but if you overdrink it, you will suffer. The problem isn't the tool; it's that you lose control. You are the problem.
They misuse this point completely. They sell you the idea that capitalism is bad because capitalism forces you to question yourself. If your business is failing, you have to ask why. Because nobody is buying from you. Why? Because you are not fulfilling their needs. Why? Because you are not solving a real problem. It goes on and on. You have to question yourself. These spiritual gurus don’t want that. They want you to have just enough money to feed their system, but they want you to be powerless. If you hold power, you become a threat. If you are powerful, and you hear a spiritual leader teaching something illogical, you can demolish it by asking questions. So they want you powerless.
Spirituality is also a subscription, but instead of paying with money, you are paying with your curiosity. It will keep you busy seeking yourself but will never let you find yourself. They keep generating new ways to dictate your dopamine, introducing new vocabulary like "energy" and "aura." Has anyone given a good definition of energy? They are using scientific terms for their illogical arguments—"I'm not getting a positive energy," "you have a negative aura." They repackage religion by telling you that you've misunderstood the scriptures and that they have the "real" meaning.
The biggest drawback of the spirituality subscription is that an exit plan does not exist. Once you enter, you have to run on that wheel for your entire life, unless your curiosity turns into critical thinking. Then, you don't just exit—you demolish the system. And at the end of the day, don't blame them. It’s not their fault. You are stupid because you don't think critically. You don't take responsibility for yourself. You wanted to play it safe, and you paid the price. But it's not too late. You can still wake up and demolish every one of these systems by just getting power. And listen, critical thinking is a power. Not delegating your authority is a power. The time you are wasting on religion and spirituality to find magic is the cost you are paying by not exploding your own potential
